WHY I DO THIS
The concept of HealthyHeart is made up of two components fitness and giving. Throughout the different stages of life, ideas, beliefs, priorities and
convictions come and go. Some fade into oblivion, monumental events create new beliefs and long-standing convictions tend to become more solidified with
time and through the trials and tribulations of just living.
Fitness: Several events in my life have taken certain convictions and have brought them to the forefront of how I address life. The levels I have reached
as an endurance athlete have been achieved through an intensely focused dedication and have produced many satisfying results on the field of competition,
however the most satisfying results are the by-products of this focused dedication.
Inspiration, re-dedication, paradigm shifts, finding life balance, and at times, radical changes in one's outlook on life are the by-products that
willingly, unwillingly, knowingly or unknowingly have been absorbed into the mind, body and spirit of others. People are perceptive by nature, so
leading by example is really quite simple. Live right and people will see all the positive results and most will eventually recognize the benefits
and begin to apply them to themselves.
Giving: The ability to influence others as it relates to the giving portion of HealthyHeart is the biggest reason why I am doing this! The GivingHeart
concept is so simple but the results have had an enormous effect on not only the GivingHeart recipient but the donation recipient as well.
To read GivingHeart responses and feel the total conviction of how a simple letter has potentially changed the life of an individual further strengthens
the commitment HealthyHeart Foundation has to impact others through giving.
Knowing someone we have touched has made a child smile for a lifetime knowing someone we have touched has potentially saved the life of someone because
medication has been paid for a year. The stories are many and the common tread contained within all is the passion for giving!!

WORDS I LIVE BY
- Many reach their bridge... few ever cross it"
- Maybe the journey is never meant to have an end, just a continual quest for an acceptable balance for where you are at in any particular stage in your
life. Life is always changing. Why can't balance be readjusted when life dictates it?"
- Life balance is about surrounding yourself with extraordinary people who are unselfish in their giving. Its about doing the right thing, not letting
the numbers control your decision making process.
- Life is not about the numbers, instead its about an incredible journey in which the numbers are a byproduct of a well disciplined and focused journey.
