WHY I DO THIS

The impact on life is not how comfortable you live and provide for your family, it's how you changed the lives of others. Two major events have driven me to take stock in life where I've been and where the greatest impact I will create in the future. The two events are 9/11/01 and the birth of my son.

Fitness: Like many of us I was an athlete in my younger days and continued to exercise however the exercise drifted off substituted by harder work and lazy personal fitness effort. My life changed by the events above realizing; I'm not who I want to be and I'm grown up. Fitness became a passion once again in my life. The results are not only physical appearance. Growth in mental fortitude, the feeling that you can achieve anything you set your mind to in spite of physical pain as well as clarity in everything you do. Finally, something I didn't expect is the influence I've had on others simply by setting an example through diligence of exercise.

Giving: Creating a means by which we can trigger a feeling within a person to reach their inner soul by giving to others and to continue that passion as much as exercising every day is why I feel so strongly about HealthyHeart Foundation. I feel like it's our responsibility to enlist the same motivation that drives the human body to push the limits of physical endurance and mental fortitude and successfully tap into another aspect of human giving making the development of the heart complete by feeling it in ones soul. We are a group that believes and has the will to successfully achieve great goals without the need for self-reward.

Ed resides in Dana Point, California, with his wife, Laura and son, Thomas. Ed is a manager with DPR Construction, a large commercial builder working in the Orange County, Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas.
